Useful functions

A couple cheat sheets with useful functions and their shortcuts can be found in the Home section.

Some of the functions used in this section:

  • EQS (Equity Screening) — filter companies based on a set of custom criteria,
  • RV (Relative Valuation) — compare a stock to its peers across various metrics,
  • EQRV (Equity Relative Valuation)  — compare the company's valuation relative to its peers,
  • PRTU (Portfolio Administration) — create and manage your portfolios,
  • PORT (Portfolio & Risk Analytics— analyze portfolio performance, exposure and perform scenario analysis,
  • HS (Spread Analysis— visualize and compare the performance of two securities,
  • ICS (Classification Browser) — find an industry and perform a top-down analysis to explore its size, the companies that compete in it, their revenues and more.

Function WEI (World Equity Indices)

To get a quick glimpse what is currently happening on the equities indices around the world and compare their returns, one can use WEI (World Equity Indices).

A list of some important equity indices with their market data is shown. Switching between different lists of indices can be done from the top-left amber box (shown below), while choosing a category from the table, such as Americas will expand the view with more indices relating to the category.

Clicking on an individual index will open it in IMAP (Intraday Market Map) function, where we can observe intraday performance of different sectors of index companies.

Function HS (Spread Analysis)

For a quick comparison between the performance of two securities, we can use HS (Spread Analysis) function.

Select a security to "buy" and a security to "sell" to show them on the page. Amber box Add Studies or Events allows for inclusion of events, technical indicators and more in the chart.

The data and its displayed period can be customized:

Use the outlined drop-down menu to change the display of the bottom-left chart. Other outlined selections can be used to:

  • normalize the top-left chart security prices to the same value (amber box Normalize by),
  • change the currency of displayed data (amber box Local), or
  • customize the charts in the way explained in the Charting equities section (double arrow that opens/closes a section on the right side of the page).
