Template library

Template library is a tool that allows us to use pre-made structured and standardized reports with all the neccesery elements so we don't need to create a new one every single time. We can again find them in the tool bar at the top of our screen. By clicking the Template Library button a window from Bloomberg terminal will appear. Here we can find a template we like.

We can navigate the library now and by clicking the Read More button we can see some details and the template's use and structure.

By clicking the Open button we will download and export it to Excel. It looks like this:

Usually there are more pages available with different kinds of data. Cells in orange are indicated by the variables we can change. By changing these, the entire templates or pages can change accordingly, allowing us for quick and easy analysis and transitions between different elements. For example we can change the ticker. Originally this template was made for a company Apple with a ticker APPL US. If we change it to MSFT US which stands for Microsoft, the entire template will change its data values from an old company (Apple) to data for a new company (Microsoft).

This is a fast and efficient way of calling upon different fundamental data of a completely different company. If we had an entire financial model for evaluating a company compiled in a new excel page that where values would be assigned to cells in our template, we would have a quick and easy evaluation model for multiple companies or different fiscal years etc. by changing just a few cells.
