During a review of data for a specific company, we can use the Quick Comps option on the left under Peer Analysis. Upon selection, Capital IQ will automatically determine its 10 closest competitors and display a table for all 11 companies with some financial data and statistics.

Clicking on the name of a company in the table will open its Tearsheet (a page with basic data) in a new tab. Using the buttons marked below, we can add new companies to the table and change the date of displayed data.

For adding companies, a new section opens up.
Note: if we want to search for companies by their name, we first need to select the Search option as the database will only find tickers when using the default setting Tickers/IQ IDs. Double-click the chosen company (or select ">"), and once satisfied with the list on the right, we can add the companies to the table using the Add to Comps button.

To delete companies from the list, tick them on the left side of their names and then under Options choose Delete.

Outlined below is a number of tabs that each offer a different set of data to compare the companies.

Those tabs can be modified and we can also create a custom one from scratch — this is done by clicking on Add/Edit Display Columns.

Exporting the table to Excel is done using the button we are already familiar with:

An Excel file with different tabs in individual sheets will be downloaded.
The comparison may also be saved — by clicking on the outlined Edit button, a new window opens that can be used for saving.

One of the ways to access saved comparisons is through My Capital IQ -> Comp Sets, where we can find a list of them.
