To access credit ratings and other data for a company we type its name in the search bar and select it from the list. Various identifiers also work besides the name.
Label on the right shows that Fitch has assigned a credit rating to this company. Even if there is no label, we might find ratings of other credit agencies.
In case that we do not know the exact name of a company, we can use the option All entities with keyword and find the wanted company on the list of all possible results that refer to the inputted text.
Selecting a company brings us to its homepage (Summary), where we can find among other things:
Below the company name we have a bar, using which we can navigate to a more detailed view of each individual category of information.
In the Profile tab we can find various information about the company and its operation. On the bottom of the page is a table in which we can obtain the executives and ownership data.
The Ratings tab provides us with both current and historical data about credit ratings of the company by both Fitch and other credit agencies.
By clicking on a rating in the Ratings History table we get an insight to the report with reasoning for the grade.
Fitch's ratings are described and explained on the link (easier to use), and a PDF file named "Rating definitions" is also uploaded in the Basic information tab.
The database offers ratings such as:
Action for a rating refers to the change at the last published rating (new rating, affirmed, upgrade, downgrade, withdrawn etc.).
Rating outlook for a rating refers to the expected change in the next 12-24 months (positive, negative, stable).
In the Research tab, various reports with precise explanations of credit ratings for selected company can be found, such as ratings for individual subcategories of company's operations, descriptions of perceived shortcomings and the impact of ESG on the credit risk.
We can also change the settings and explore the reports and ratings of companies from the sector or find documents with assessment criteria.
In the Financials tab, key financial data and statements are shown for the company for the past few years.
All the available data can be exported to Excel at one time using the Export all tables to Excel button. To export a single selected financial statement (the right one can be selected by using the tabs above the table) we select Export this table to Excel.
By clicking on a date in the table, the option appears to download the annual report of the company in which this statement has been published.
